To the Board
Tabitha Foundation Australia
I have recently spent a month in Cambodia in various areas and have been impressed tthat of the NGO programs I have seen, yours seems to address most aptly people being responsible for themselves via the “Savings Program”.
I came to the conclusion that a number of international NGO's were in fact wasting money trying to deal with the symptoms of the country and not the core or catalyst. To me this means self responsibility and enough education to deal with decisions long term.
By starting with the poor and enabling them to have a choice is the beginning of this responsibility.
Your house building program has the extra plus of educating Australian children about the world outside this country and draws together parents and children in a common cause.
I strongly recommend that schools, companies, churches, etc support Tabitha and consider sending a bulding team to Cambodia.
I am happy to speak to donors considering supporting Tabitha.
