Oct 2004 - Anna Moran and Clare Moran - Kids who make a difference

Anna Moran and Clare Moran visited Cambodia and Vietnam last Christmas. Their trip to Cambodia enabled them to better understand how lucky they are to have been born in Australia. They plan to return to Cambodia with their parents this Christmas to participate in the January Tabitha house-building project. They will be contributing their own saved pocket money to fund their travel expenses and attempting to raise additional money for extra houses.

Their fund raising is in the form of:

  • an email and online campaign to family and friends in Australia, Singapore and the USA
  • a monster neighbourhood garage sales of toys, clothes, furniture and other bric-a-brac
  • neighbourhood door-knock appeal to see how much their street can raise
  • inviting school friends to contribute ideas to help
  • presentation to school class, with the hope that Tabitha will become an adopted charity for 2005.

They were delighted to recently meet Hansa Quarry, who reassured them that they would have some fun and probably find a pool for an after-work swim.

Editor: Anna and Clare have already raised almost enough money to finance six houses and there's still more than two months to go. Thank you girls - great job!
